Two years ago I decided to start reading more books. I felt the need to grow my imagination and explore some new ways of dreaming and growing.

I always give my self a rational goal of how many books I want to read in a year. Last year I wanted to read 15 books but I managed to read 12. Nevertheless I'm still happy with the number.

So today I'm going to talk about the best books I read in 2018. There are 3 books that left a big mark on me in the past year.

1. The Secret by Rhonda Byrne

The first book I want to talk about is The Secret. Is one of the fist books I read in 2018. It had such an impact on me that it followed me throughout the whole year and it still does.

It's a book about the law of attraction - which basically goes by the role ''you receive the things you think about''. It explains what the law of attraction is and how to implement it in your life. In the book there are also some real-life success stories.

It completely changed the way I think and see the world. I recommend it to all who would like to expand their spiritual knowledge.

2. Children of blood and bone by Tomi Adeyemi

So the second book I want to mention is Children of blood and bone.

It's an action-packed fantasy set in an alternate version of West Africa, where strong female characters try to save and keep magic in their kingdom.

It was truly a breath of fresh air and an inspiring novel. Children of Blood and Bone tackles real-life issues that have become more concerning in the recent years, such as racism, violence, ...

I truly enjoyed the story and would gladly read it again. Also, I think children and teenagers should definitely read more books like this one.

3. Good night stories for rebel girl

And the last but certainly not least is the book Good night stories for rebel girls.

One hundred mini biographies of extraordinary women who broke the barriers and achieved great things are presented in this book. Some of them are Cleopatra, Frida Kahlo, Jane Austen, Elizabeth I, Serena Williams, ...

The book was written to inspire girls all over the world.

The stories challenge the gender stereotypes and are really inspiring. For me this was a fun, quick read and I intend to read the second book too.
