Summer is fun, but keeping your skin (and body) hydrated can be a challenge. The humidity, the UV rays, high temperatures and pollution can cause clogged pores, dry skin, wrinkles and irritation. So to avoid these and other skin issues we must keep our skin hydrated and fresh.

Here are the top tips on how to keep your skin and body hydrated for a healthy and fresh summer look:

1. Hydrate your skin from the inside

I know, I know we've all heard how important is to drink enough water. But during the summer our body loses a lot of liquids and minerals while sweating so we really need to hydrate our skin from the inside by drinking at least 2-3 liters of water a day. Drinking enough water will keep your skin moisturized, plump and healthy looking. It will also help your body flush out the toxins and keep your digestive track healthy. Other then water you can also drink green tea and coconut water.

2. Eat water-rich food

Food like watermelons, cucumbers, berries, oranges and peppers will also help you keep your skin (and body) hydrated and glowy. All of these foods are also packed with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals which are great for your overall health.

3. Add supplements

Dietary supplements can support you liver and gut health, keep your bones healthy, your hair thick and shiny,... but they can also help you fight wrinkles, preserve the skin's elasticity and hydrate the skin. Try vitamin E, Zinc, Evening Primrose oil and collagen shots.

4. Use water based skincare products

Don't forget to hydrate your skin from the outside too. When the weather is hot and humid, choose a water based moisturizer, clean your skin with a gel cleanser and use sheet masks with Aloe Vera, Green tea, Niacinamide and Hyaluronic acid more often.

5. Don't forget sunscreen

It's important to protect our skin from the UV rays throughout the whole year, especially during the summer as the sun rays are much stronger. Not only do they dry out the skin, but can cause the brake-down of collagen, wrinkles and hyperpigmentation. If you don't like heavy creams that can make your skin look oily, then choose water based fluids with chemical UV filters.

6. Cool-off your skin on the go

When you go out carry a facial mist with you. It will fight the dryness and keep your thirsty skin hydrated all day long. For normal skin type try a Rosewater Mist and if you're more on the oily side then La Roche-Posay Serozinc is the way to go.

- Remember, glowing skin is always in.
