Whilst my morning skincare routine is quite quick and easy, I like to take my time when it comes to my nighttime routine. During the night our skin has time to repair itself and get rid of any toxins, that's why my nighttime skincare routine includes products that nourish my skin and take care of a specific concern.
I always start with a good cleans. No matter if I wore makeup that day or not, my skin has been exposed to pollution, toxins and has been producing sebum throughout the whole day, so a good cleans is very much needed.
I swear by the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel cleanser. I've been using this product for the last 4 years and is the best cleanser that I tried so far. It doesn't irritate my skin or dry it out but on the other hand it gets rid of any makeup or impurities. And another thing ... a little goes a long way.

The second step is toner. My favorite toner is Afrodita's Clean Phase toner for combination and oily skin type. After that my skin feels hydrated and fresh. Contains a hamamelis and lemon extract and has a skin-friendly ph level.
Another toner/essence that I use after that is Lush Tea Tree Water. I spray it all over my face and live it there so my skin can absorb it completely. Contains Tea Tree water, Grapefruit water and Juniperberry water so it's perfect for a dehydrated and oily/combo skin type like mine.
My fourth step are serums and/or treatments. I still don't have a holy grail product in this category. The ones I'm currently testing are the Avant Skincare 8 Hour Anti-Oxidising and Retexturing Hyaluronic Facial Serum and Vital Plus Active JAL Hyaluronic acid serum.
*I'm planing a review for both of them so stay tuned :)
A very important step in any skincare routine is moisturizing. And since I didn't find so far a night moisturizer that will nourish my skin but still be lightweight, I'm using some day moisturizers I like. Currently I'm switching between Vichy Aqualia Thermal Gel Cream (read the review here) and Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S. Intense Moisturizing Cream.
The last (but not least) step are oils. I started incorporating a facial oil in my routine not so long ago. I opted to try the Frei Ol Facial Oil that regenerates and moisturizes the skin.
Occasionally I will get a spot here and there and I will put on some Sudocrem. It's truly my go-to spot treatment.
Once to twice a week after cleansing my face I will use an exfoliator. I switch between a scrub and a chemical exfoliator that contains BHA's and AHA's. Also, every third day after toning my skin I will apply some kind of face mask, usually I use a sheet mask.
- How many steps does your nighttime skincare routine have?
